Peccei–Quinn symmetry breaking via asymptotically safe dynamical scalegenesis: a walking axicolor and axion

Pecci-Quinn (PQ) symmetry breaking by perturbative dynamics would suffer from a hierarchy problem, just like the electroweak in standard model. The of axion, associated with PQ breaking, also involve triviality problem. We provide paradigm to resolve those two problems potentially existing scenario, keeping successful axion relaxation for QCD strong CP phase. proposed theory includes an axicolor axicolored fermions partially gauged color, and is shown be governed asymptotically safe (AS) fixed point: quantum scale invariance built. AS actually ``walking" dynamics, which dynamically breaks symmetry, part chiral carried fermions. generation then triggered nonperturbative dimensional transmutation dynamics. A composite emerges as assosiated Nambu-Goldstone boson. That is, no or problem present there. can light due characteristic feature (``walking" axicolor), becomes anti-Veneziano limit, gets heavier subleading correction. relaxes theta parameter, involving partners such pseudoscalar mesons, ultraviolet correction mechanism protected established (near) during regime.
